Advani on PM: Calling spade a spade

Guwahati: As Jana Chetna the BJP stalwart LK Advani's Yatra promotional number, «Aab Baas» (Enough), started playing, the way the rally Sonaram High School field here was almost turned into a concert venue.

Peppered with rock music, the song is not only the crowd, but the BJP leaders on the podium a little groove. Seeing specific enjoying the song was BJP national vice-president and MP from Guwahati, Bijoya Chakraborty.

Chakraborty kept time with the beat and the crowd egged on through four minutes number. The crowd in turn retaliated, routing to a rapturous applause of their hands with the melody. Advani himself joined in the end, giving to the mood of the crowd.

Perceived by director Mani Shankar, the song is composed by Gourov Das Gupta and sung by Raja Hassan with creative input from Prasoon Joshi, Pratibha Advani and Mani Shankar.

The former deputy prime minister, said that while the earlier yatras taken at the level of religiosity, service to the nation and patriotism was no less by religious sentiments.

"I lead five yatras in the past. But the sixth one is exceptional in terms of human response I got when I went since I started on October 11 by the Bihar Sitab Diara, the birthplace of Jai Prakash Narayan, "Advani said.

On Thursday, the 10th day of the Yatra, Advani flew from Hyderabad in a special aircraft landed at the airport Lilabari to Dibrugarh district and headed to Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar. After addressing a public rally in Itanagar, Advani again flew Lokapriya gopinath Bordoloi international airport here, to address a similar rally in Guwahati.

BJP leaders said earlier yatras Advani did not touch the northeast, but Jana Chetna Yatra is designed to cover the area.

"Advaniji has made absolutely clear at the planning stage that the Yatra would not be complete if the northeast was not touched. That is why Advaniji is in Assam. He also visited Itanagar today (Thursday),« BJP chief spokesperson, Ravi Shankar Prasad said. BJP leaders of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Sikkim were also present at the rally here.

"At age 84, Advaniji is tireless. Serve the country with a clean image. And now, through the Yatra has set out to awaken the people of the country suffer because of corruption and bad governance», Prasad said.
